Beautiful and clean accommodation rented by friendly host. Perfect location for BC ferries to Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast. Ideally located in Horseshoe bay village and easy transport links to downtown Vancouver. Perfect get away spot.
Owner Response
Thank you for your kind words Kathryn. It was a pleasure having you both as guests. I hope you will come to stay again.
Walking distance to Horseshoe Bay with restaurants, boat rental and fantastic views. There's also a few coffee shops and small markets. We stayed here because it's within driving distance of Vancouver and North Vancouver, but in a less populated area. The property is literally across the street from the ferry terminal. The condo is very modern and tastefully decorated. We appreciated the small snacks including fresh fruit and cold water when we arrived. The gas burning fireplace was nice and there is plenty of counter space for cooking if you so desire. The internet was fast and reliable which is important to us. We had a few special requests from Valerie which she accommodated right away. Our dog was slipping on the smooth laminate wood flooring and Valerie got us several rugs right away so our dog could walk around more easily. Also, she turned up the heat for us when we asked and allowed us to keep our dog a few hours over our checkout time while we went biking. Valerie is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. Also, there is a community center a few min away by car with a gym (6.50/day drop in) and a nice trail for walking your dog a few min by car. The waterfront park on Horseshoe Bay doesn't allow dogs. We ate at the Olive and Anchor which was great!
Owner Response
Thank you Andrew for writing such a positive review. I'm so glad the weather cleared up on your second day so you could both go hiking. I will definitely have plenty of rugs in place for Bella if you come back again!! Thanks again, Valerie
My husband and I stayed at this property in June of 2014 with our small baby and our dog while our home was being renovated. We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend it, especially for families with a dog. The unit was very well equipped, clean and well maintained. It was also nice and quiet when our baby needed to nap. Valerie was very helpful in answering all of our questions. The property is about a 20 minute drive to downtown and so it would be a good home base for tourists wanting to see that area as well as Vacouver Island and/or Whistler. The property is a very short walk to the horse shoe bay ferry terminal and many other amenities in the village, including transit.
Owner Response
Thanks Kim for posting this review. I'm glad I was able to help out when you needed to escape the dust of your home renovation. As I'm sure you gathered, I love babies and dogs, making it a pleasure to have you to stay :)
Thank you Valerie for providing my 7 month old son, our energetic dog, my sister and I such a wonderful and welcoming stay. We enjoyed the lovely patio very much. It was helpful for me to not have to worry about packing all the baby items as you had everything we needed to make it feel like home. My son was delighted with the exersaucer! I thoroughly enjoyed morning walks to Flour Bakery where I discovered the most delicious chocolate croissants. I hope we will be able to return very soon for another relaxing visit.
Owner Response
Hi Nicola, I am so glad the two of you enjoyed a relaxing holiday. The chocolate croissants at "Flour" are a local secret because they usually sell out by 8:00 AM!! You will have to come again before Cameron gets to big for the exersaucer... he clearly loved it.
We had a delightful time at Valerie's apartment. It was welcoming, well-appointed and perfectly located. We even got to leave our dog with Valerie for an evening, meaning he had a great time too. If you want to go to downtown Vancouver from fabulous Horseshoe Bay, do what we did: park at the Londsdale Quay and ferry over to downtown. We had a blast and avoided the traffic. There really couldn't be a better spot from which to explore the North and South shores of Vancouver than Valerie's.
Owner Response
Thanks Catherine, I'm so glad you both enjoyed your stay. What a great idea to take the sea bus over to downtown. I enjoyed looking after Horatio for the evening and the chocolates you brought back were delicious!! I hope you and Gaelen will come again :)
We had an incredible time staying at this residence in Horseshoe Bay! Valerie is an amazing host, providing us with all the information, amenities and accommodation for all 4 of us. We were so excited to stay within a walking distance from all the restaurants, shops, and the marina. One day, we rented a boat and got a chance to cruise around Bowen Island and the neighboring places around Horseshoe Bay. We saw sea lions and wild birds, ate some of the most delicious seafood at the Boathouse and Bay Mornings, and were able to catch our early ferry to Victoria, which is conveniently located down the road. We will definitely come back to Horseshoe Bay because there's nothing more relaxing than being surrounded by mountains, water, and beautiful scenery. We recommend Valerie and her residence for anyone who wishes to get away from the noisy city and have a nice relaxing time at the bay. It's the perfect getaway! Thanks again Valerie!
Owner Response
I'm glad you all had such a great time Sveta. The "Sea Safari" from Sewell's Marina is a great way to enjoy the wildlife and scenery, although I'm sorry you didn't see any whales!! After you left, it was a lovely surprise to find the towels already washed - thank you :)
We (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed at the Valerie's Ferry Walk House for a very pleasant week. Valerie was very responsive pre-booking and always available to help during the stay. What you see in the (very nice) pictures is what you get. Everything is new. The unit has a full size washing machine, full size dryer, full size dishwasher (portable) and even an Apple TV with Netflix. Valerie set up the second bedroom with an additional single air-bed for all kids to use. There is a TV there with its own cable box. Parents will get the idea... :) The Horseshoe Bay village is a very short walk away. Many places to eat, a playground and just fun to walk and watch the ferries come in. Whytecliff Park is a very short drive away and highly recommended. If you are considering a place to stay in Horseshoe Bay - choose Valerie's - it's a sure bet!
Owner Response
Hi Ron, Thanks for the review. You have a lovely family and I really appreciated the tidy suite when you left - especially the towels in the laundry basket ready to wash!! I hope the kids are enjoying the swimming pool in Whistler.
What a wonderful place to come home to after a day of sight seeing and adventuring. The location is ideal and within easy reach of a number of other attractions. It is spacious, clean, well supplied with all the essentials you could want or need. The patio is lovely and secluded,I enjoyed sitting out there in the early morning. Having a handicap was not a problem for me. I was totally comfortable. The proprietor is a lovely woman who makes you feel welcome and offers assistance and information but does not intrude. I would happily recommend this accommodation to my friends, family and tourists looking for a nice place to stay. We found the Sea Safari a lot of fun and the ferry ride over to the island was lovely but there were too many other places and activities that it was hard to choose just one or two to mention here. If I am ever fortunate enough to come out west again, I would love to stay here again.
Owner Response
Dear Ursula and Elizabeth. Thank you for your kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I agree that there are almost too many activities to choose from!! The Sea Safari is clearly really popular. My cats Tango and Fergus loved all the extra attention you gave them. Come back soon!!
I stayed here with my mother for three nights and highly recommend it. The location makes it an ideal base for travel to Whistler, Vancouver and Bowen Island. Horseshoe Bay itself is a lovely village with good restaurants and all the amenities you could want. The apartment is spotlessly clean, comfortable and both thoughtfully and tastefully appointed, with many nice touches to make it feel homey rather than sterile. I especially appreciated the real feather pillows, the selection of tea, coffee and snacks (even dog treats!) provided and the toiletries on hand should you have forgotten anything. The outdoor space is a lovely place for an alfresco meal or drink, with beautiful flowers, comfy patio furniture and twinkly patio lights for the evening. Valerie is a wonderful hostess who kept in touch without being intrusive and truly made us feel like we were valued guests.
Owner Response
Thank you Elizabeth. Your very positive review means a lot to me. I'm so glad it turned out to be such a great vacation for you and your mother. She's a lucky Mom!!
My stay at Valerie's charming Ferry Walk was wonderful - from the cozy fireplace in the winter, to the lovely patio in the summer, everything was to my satisfaction. Valerie is a warm host as well! I highly recommend Ferry Walk house for a short term stay. Super clean, well organized home away from home. Horseshoe Bay is a great little village, and everything from a cup of coffee to glass of wine is within short walking distance. This is a well kept, lovely little place to call home!
Owner Response
Thanks for your kind words Evelyn. It was a pleasure having you as a long term guest over the winter months. I'm glad you were here long enough to enjoy the garden patio in warm weather. I miss hearing all the laughter coming from the patio when you and John had guests over.
Ferry Walk House is the perfect place for a restful, beautiful vacation in B.C. The bus system provides easy access to every thing great. There is a convenient parking space but a car was not needed and made for a more leisurely paced week. Great wi-fi for staying in touch. Bus to Dunderave (sp), walk along the sea to Amble Side for coffee and scone at Savory Island and Pie. Watch for the eagles along the shore. Horse Shoe Bay is breathtaking. H Snyder
Owner Response
Thanks so much for your review Harry. It's really helpful for guests to know that a car is not essential. Next time you come, try a slice of pie at the Savary Island Pie Company. Yummy!! Better still buy the whole thing, add ice cream and feel free to share :) Come again soon!!
Ferry Walk House had every thing we needed for a perfect vacation in Vancouver. It is very clean, well appointed, private and located within a 5 minute walk to all conveniences and transportation. Valerie was always available but we needed nothing. The Wi-Fi allowed us to stay in touch and even do a little work. We were surprised at how well Valerie had stocked us for our breakfasts and snacks. This is way above class.
Owner Response
Vivian and Harry, it was a pleasure having you to stay - even though I hardly saw you!! I'm glad you enjoyed the breakfast goodies and snacks. I like guests to feel they don't have to rush out the door to go grocery shopping the moment they arrive. A "home from home" needs something to eat!!.
Ferry Walk House was a fantastic place for our 3 week stay. Without asking for anything, Valerie had supplied enough food for our first day which was a great start. The place was perfect for us to visit family on Bowen Island as the ferry terminal is so close, plus Valerie had an extra room for our grandchildren to stay overnight. Valerie is a friendly and helpful person and helped us a lot when we had changes made with our flight back to Australia. The place was spotless and well stocked for our comfort, plus the location is beautiful and close to shops, restaurants etc. We cannot recommend this highly enough, and would not hesitate staying again if we return to Vancouver.
We stayed at Horseshoe Bay on our way back from Vancouver Island and it was just what we needed. Valerie had everything we needed even extra little snacks and jams, which was a very nice touch. The home was very clean and beautifully designed. Just nearby are shops, coffee bars and some nice restaurants with views over the harbour. Being Pet friendly was a must for our medium sized dog Roxanne and we are so glad we were able to stay here and would definitely stay again if planning a trip to Vancouver.
we found Valerie and ferry walk house to be beautifully situated near shops, restaurants, ferries and public transport. Valerie has managed to anticipate your every requirement with intuitive skill (thanks for the cellotape Valerie) and we had a beautiful holiday. We are returning for another holiday one day, Very highly recommended.
Owner Response
Don and Sue, you were wonderful guests and I so enjoyed that Don celebrated his 80th birthday while you were here. What a wonderful array of cards - I hope you enjoyed the photo. I'm so glad to hear you are already planning to come again for your 85th birthday. I can't wait!! Thanks for your email Sue, I am happy we are staying in touch.
Our family loved Ferry Walk House, so comfortable and well kept it was a delight to return every day from one of our adventures. Ferry to Bowen Island was one of our favorites, also the eco- tour from Sewells marina loved going down to the beach when tide was out and seeing beautiful starfish. Horseshoe bay is amazing, hope to go back soon.
Owner Response
Thanks for listing some of your favourite activities Carol. Bowen Island is a favourite destination with the 20 minute ferry ride. I hope you will check out the ferry to Gibsons and the Sunshine Coast the next time you come!! Hoping to see you again.
My husband and I stayed at Ferry Walk House over the Labour Day weekend, as we were attending a wedding in West Vancouver. We found both Valerie and Ferry Walk House to be wonderful - Valerie was extremely helpful (providing an umbrella for a garden wedding in iffy weather) and gracious, and the apartment itself is beautifully fitted with everything needed for a short or long stay. Highly recommended.
Owner Response
Thanks so much for your great review Joan. I hope you and Gary had a safe drive all the way back to Ontario. I'm so glad you didn't need the umbrella for the wedding. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to hear all about it!! The umbrella is now available for guests who may not be as lucky as you two :)
Ferry walk place was my "home" for 2 months. It was fully stocked with everything I needed and super close to everything I wanted! Starbucks, restaurants, ferry terminal, walking trails etc. The bathroom in the suite was very nicely renovated and new. Hot water was instant and nice and hot. Shower pressure was perfect. The bedroom was comfortable and calm. It was nice to have Netflix and other Apple TV features and the desk allowed me to work from home. All in all it was a lovely experience. Valerie was also a pleasure to deal with, with no issues whatsoever. Thank you.
Owner Response
Silvia, it was a pleasure having you and I'm glad the desk was so useful for you to work from home. Although you didn't mention it, I now have a custom made foam cushion for the desk chair so guests are more comfortable. Thanks for choosing Ferry Walk House for your in between home.
Ferry Walk House is a wonderful place to stay. Fully equipped with everything you could possibly want and more. Very comfortable as well. Gracious host , very helpful and thoughtful. Would definitely stay there again.
Owner Response
Carol, it was a pleasure having you and your two very well behaved dogs to stay. I look forward to seeing you again.
Thank you, Valerie, for a wonderful stay at Ferry Walk while we were in between homes. The suite was perfect for our family, and the fact that you were welcoming to our dog, too, was amazing! We felt right at home and appreciated everything you did for us! Highly recommended!
Owner Response
Leanna and Jason it was such a pleasure to have you and Dominique staying for 2 months. Looking after Bella was a treat for me - as you may have gathered, I love dogs!! Thank you to Dominique for looking after my cats when I was away. I'm so glad we are now neighbors and you are living close by.
This was our first time of trying a VRBO property. We could not have been more pleased. Property is extremely well cared for and this is only the beginning of the surprises that await as you enter an excellent outdoor patio that is very private and allows one the time to have your morning coffee Excellent thought to interior design, both to maximize the space but also your comfort. The owner Valerie Williams is an absolute jewel as the host of this property (there when you need someone and quietly out of the way when you don't) I can not wait for my next trip to this area as I know exactly where I will stay. That's why I given her 2 thumbs up
Owner Response
Thanks for the great review Michael. I am returning the 2 thumbs up to you and Gail for being wonderful and appreciative guests. I can't wait for you to come back again. Now that you have made friends with several shop owners in Horseshoe Bay, there will be plenty of smiling people saying "welcome back".
We really enjoyed our time at Valerie's. She was very helpful and did everything to accommodate us. The condo was spotless. We even entertained friends one evening and had everything we needed. I would certainly recommend it as great place to stay. If I can add, there were only the two of us, but the deal for the second bedroom would make it an exceptional place to stay for a family or two couples. Valerie - maybe next time we will bring Pedro and Molly. Scott
Owner Response
Scott and Cindy, it was a pleasure to have you as guests. I'm glad you had such nice weather for your day trip to the Sunshine Coast. The beautiful flowers you brought with you were still going strong several days after you left. I really enjoyed them!! Please bring Pedro and Molly next time - I'm always happy to have four legged visitors š
We have had a truly wonderful stay at Ferry Walk House! Valerie - your hospitality and thoughtfulness has meant so much to us. The location is perfect and we have enjoyed our daily walks around Horseshoe Bay and trying out some of the restaurants - Olive & Anchor for fish and chips and the patio at Bay Moorings. It has been lovely to get to know you Valerie and we look forward to returning again soon!
Valerie your accommodation was just excellent for our needs. We couldn't have been happier with your space or your lovely manner. It is difficult to find adequate lodging for wheelchair bound individuals, we were so happy your space was easily manageable for us to feel comfortable. Thank you, thank you for your hospitality.
Owner Response
Michelle, Angela and Mary, I am delighted it worked out so well for you. Having French doors is certainly a bonus for moving a wheelchair in and out!! It was a long drive for you to get here, but I do hope you'll come again. Thank you for leaving the suite so neat and tidy.
Very beautiful area with great restaurants, outstanding scenery and well located to visit area sites with car like Whistler, Squamish, and Vancouver area. 2 minute walk to the ferries to visit other locations. The unit is clean, well laid out and perfect for 4 with the additional bedroom. Very quite area and Valerie is very welcoming. Also very pet friendly. Thank you Valerie, you have a great place and hope to see you again. Highly recommend!
Owner Response
Thanks for the great review Alan. It was a pleasure to have such an easy going, friendly family to stay and I'm glad you all had such a good time. I really enjoyed looking after Zoey for a day - not all dogs are so good with cats!! Come again soon!!
Our stay at the Ferry Walk House was perfect. From the Netflix on TV, to the pet friendly nature of the suite, to the fact that the suite is spotless and also literally steps from the ferry terminal, this is the perfect vacation spot. Although you are so close to the city you really don't feel like it with the mountains and ocean at your doorstep. Valerie was so welcoming to us and our dog Hank. We have found a new place to stay when we vacation in the big city :)
Owner Response
Kim, I'm so glad everything worked so well for the wedding in West Vancouver, including the weather!! I am looking forward to seeing you back again.
Valerie's apartment was just perfect. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a home from home. A fantastic location for the ferries to the islands and the sunshine coast just two minutes from the door. Buses to Vancouver at least every half hour which makes it a great alternative to staying in Vancouver. Only 25mins from downntown and a beautiful location. What more could you ask for? Lots of cafes and restaurants to choose from if you want to eat out. If not Valerie provides a well equipt kitchen and a lovely well furnished apartment to relax in. Lovely private garden too. She was a wonderful host and made us feel at home. 4 days wasn't long enough to appreciate all that Horseshoe Bay had to offer but Im sure we will be back. Thank you Valerie!
Owner Response
Thank you Maggie & Derek. You were both living proof that a car is not needed to enjoy being here. You managed to pack a lot into 4 days and it's great to know you're coming back next year.
The minute you walk in, you know that you made a great choice by selecting this beautiful place. Valerie is very friendly and makes you feel right at āhomeā away from home from the get go! Her lovely house is surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers that I truly appreciated. We never ran out of places to go, and the bay was just a few minutes walk away. We also found it easy to just relax and watch NetFlix while our dogs enjoyed the courtyard. THANK YOU Valerie for making it safe and quite enjoyable at the same time.
Owner Response
Darla and Patty it was a delight to have you to stay. I'm so glad to hear you will be coming back next year.
My Fiance and I stayed at the Ferry Walk house from July 7th-14th and everything was wonderful. The house is in a great location. It is away from the city, but still close enough to everything. Horseshoe bay is a wonderful little place, with great restaurants and it's right on the water. Everything is a two minute walk from the house. We did a snorkeling tour with sea lions that left right from the bay. Valerie herself was a wonderful host who made sure we had everything we needed. We had an absolutely wonderful vacation and hope to make it back to the Ferry Walk house someday!
Owner Response
Thank you Allie & Andrew. I am so glad you enjoyed your first visit to the west coast. You managed to pack a lot of adventures into one week - especially driving to Chilliwack to go fishing on the Fraser River. Your photos of those enormous sturgeon were impressive!! I hope to see you again.
My husband and I stayed at the Ferry Walk House July 18-22. When we arrived Valerie met us with a big bowl of fresh fruit, which was awesome. The house was super clean and a perfect set up for us. We made our own breakfast every morning and pack up our lunches for our long hikes we did. We drove just a little North and went hiking to the top of Sea to Sky where we took the gondola ride back down the mountain. It was an amazing hike, but for advanced hikers. They do not advise hiking back down, which was just perfect because it took over 4 hours to hike up. We spent the day in Vancouver city, which was amazing., We also went to the park in Horse Shoe Bay, a 4 minute drive or a 1/2 hour walk to the park to watch the beautiful sunset. We took along a bottle of wine, blanket and some snacks. We saw some dolphins and a sea lion along with the sunset. We explored Horse Shoe Bay and a few other close by cities. Great part of our vacation out West! Absolutely beautiful views of the mountains and sea! Would highly recommend Ferry Walk House. Valerie is wonderful! Thank you again!
Owner Response
Sharon & Joe, thanks for the great review. I am glad you mentioned that 4 hour hike - it sounded amazing and my hat is off to you for doing it. Personally I heartily recommend the gondola BOTH ways for that fabulous view!! Taking a bottle of wine and a blanket to Whytecliff Park was a great idea...I'm glad the dophinsand sea lion came by to say hello.
Just returned from our stay at Ferry Walk House. It was in a great location, and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, the marina, and the ferry terminal. While not in Vancouver, it was still easy to get into the city center and other places; by car or bus. Enjoying a coffee at the end of the day looking out at beautiful Horseshoe Bay was a special treat. The house itself was very clean and comfortable, it was a wonderful place to return to after a day of activities. Valerie was a great host, and made sure we were always comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Valerie.
Owner Response
Virginia, Paul & Sarah, it was a pleasure having you to stay and thanks for the great review!! I'm so glad you were able to get around to see so many different places. As you say, it's easy to get into the city from here and I'm glad you also enjoyed being in Horseshoe Bay. It sounds like you discovered the "Lookout" coffee shop with the fantastic view that overlooks the marina and the ferries coming in and out. It's a great place to "hang out" at any time of the day.
Valerie is such a generous and attentive hostess. She brought us fresh fruit, supplied us cereal, snack bars and lots of other goodies. Knowing that we were planning to use the BBQ frequently, Valerie supplied us with all the necessary BBQ Tools, racks to cook on and filled up the gas tank! Knowing that parking is not easy downtown Vancouver, we took the Express bus that was one street away from the house which took 30 minutes into Vancouver. It was great, no hassles and easy transport. For those who enjoy hiking, it is perfectly located where you can hike in Vancouver West, North, Squamish or Whistler and more. We loved coming home after a days hike and cooking up a good meal and eating out on our private terrace. It was also nice to be able to walk over in Horseshoe Bay to the boutiques and walkway. We celebrated my husband's 60th BDay at the BoatHouse restaurant which was extremely good only a 10 minute walk away from home. The suite was extremely clean and comfortable. We loved everything about our stay and would love to come back. Thank you Valerie for making our stay a pleasant one! Louise, Robert and Lorraine
My wife and I were returning to Vancouver from a week's holiday on the Sunshine Coast. Where we were staying was perfect and we did not think that it could be equalled - but it truly was. Ferry Walk House is everything that it says on the tin (in this case the website) and much much more. The "more" lies in Valerie William's welcome, not only its warmth but the fact that in setting up her rental suite Valerie has thought of absolutely everything - and its all of the highest quality, The "more" is also the fabulous location, in the centre of town, near the water and just a few steps away form the BC Ferry Terminal with its bus stop bus stop for the brilliant 250 bus which runs along Marine Drive into Vancouver city centre and its sister 257 Express service. We were sorry to leave -but hope to return.
Basement suite was very nice place by the ferry boat. You do not feel like you are in the basement with big window and lots of room. Lots of little shops to walk to in Horseshoe bay. Valerie has lot of pamphlets for you to see if you are going to attractions with discounts. Valerie is there to help you if you have any questions other then that you do not see her much. Had lots of fun.
This is a great place to stay when in Vancouver. Some might say they want to be closer to downtown but we found it very easy to trip down the freeway and across Lion's Gate bridge, which goes through Stanley park and leads you right into the downtown, about 15 minutes. You can easily get to most of the good places-the aquarium, the tower overlooking the city, gastown, and so forth, plus its right next to the ferry to the sunshine coast and easy drive to Capilano and Whistler all of which are the opposite direction from downtown, so this is central from that perspective. The property itself is a walkout with good window light and you have a private patio and table right outside your door. The interior includes a washer dryer and is very well appointed, very well maintained and has lots of space which was needed as I was travelling with my son and his fiancƩ (lol). In addition there is lots of privacy and Valerie provides everything one would need in the kitchen and bedrooms, including TV, DVD, and parking, books to read, etc. Lots of tourist info is provided in the suite and you are a block from Blenz coffee and 2 blocks from Starbucks if that appeals, plus 3 or 4 good restaurants and a little convenience store that carries most one would need for making your own meals. My family and I stayed at Ferry Walk House for the month of November, 2016 while we renovated our house, and we had a wonderful time! The property is in a perfect location, just steps away from shops, restaurants, the beach, transit, and the ferry of course. We have 2 small dogs so we were thrilled to find a place that allowed them too. The suite was very clean, well appointed and Valerie made sure we had everything we needed so that we felt right at home. I'd recommend Ferry Walk House to anyone! Thank you Valerie!
Other than the freezing weather and snow putting a serious dent in our sightseeing/holiday plans, we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, quality stay than Ferry Walk House. FWH has everything you could possibly want in a home away from home, as Valerie has taken care to make sure that everything is comfortable, clean and attractive (and warm!) Thanks to Valerie for everything!
Lovely lovely lovely. Wonderful spot. Very relaxing. Wonderful host. Went out of her way to look after all of the details. Highly recommend. Looking forward to staying again.

Thank you, Kathryn and Warren, for the great review. You were wonderful guests and I am so glad it was possible to have your son and his wife to spend a few nights here with you. You were the first guests this year that the weather was kind enough to make a BBQ possible!! I really appreciated you leaving the suite so clean and tidy - especially finding all the towels, washed, dried and folded. Please come again, it would be a pleasure to have you back!!
My husband and I celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary here for 4 nights in late May. We brought our two small dogs, so it was great to find a nice, pet-friendly place to stay. Valerie was great! She treated us like family. The place was very clean and private. The location was perfect! It really is the Ferry Walk House, so convenient to everything in the area. We loved Horseshoe Bay. There are restaurants, coffee shops, a nice park, etc. We loved just hanging out there with a latte and book in hand. We had a vehicle, but it would be easy to get around without one, public transport was abundant. The central location in West Vancouver, made it easy to either head to adventure in the mountains or the city. We took the ferry to Bowen Island (the ferry ride alone is epic with all the beautiful scenery), we went toward Whistler and explored Shannon Falls and took an awesome Gondola Ride up to the top of a mountain. Many parks in the area to take our dogs. We planned to explore the city of Vancouver more, but we were content to stay around West Vancouver and just relax. I highly recommend! Thanks Valerie.

Andrea and Robin, I consider it a great honour to have contributed to the enjoyment of your 15th Wedding Anniversary. Thank you for the detailed review about the location and area and for pointing out that there is plenty to do and see without going very far. You are definitely not alone in enjoying just "hanging out" in Horseshoe Bay! It was a pleasure having you both to stay and I hope you will come again for another wedding anniversary, or just come again!!
Ferry Walk House is as it suggests - a short walk to the ferry terminal at Horseshoe Bay enabling travel to Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast and Bowen Island with ease. Plus an express bus link to downtown Vancouver if that`s what you want, and you are already on Route 99 for an unforgettable journey to Whistler and beyond. There is much to see around the area. Valerie has worked hard to provide everything you need for a comfortable stay including luxury extras. Her pre-arrival information pack is highly detailed and she also provides lots of local information in the accommodation to help you plan those days out. Loved the private patio and lush garden, which we made good use of. Suggest you shop on route , as only basic general store in Horseshoe Bay. Valerie had provided some staples like fruit, bottles of water, cereal, cookies and tea and coffee to get started. We had a lovely week and were sad to leave, and would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Thank you Yvette and Brian for your detailed review. It provides a great overview of the area. I was really impressed with the number of places and activities you managed to pack into your week's stay. Although you had a car, you really took good advantage of the local transport, particularly with taking the bus on Bowen Island and the Sunshine Coast. The extra effort you made to leave the apartment in a spotless condition is greatly appreciated - thank you. I hope to see you back again!
We had a lovely week staying at Ferry Walk House. Really nice house with everything you could want for your stay, Valerie has thought of everything. The house is in a great location just 2 minutes walk to the front with shops and restaurants, the bus into Vancouver and the ferry port. Valerie is on hand if you need help/advice.Horseshow Bay is a truly lovely place to stay and with very easy access to Vancouver makes it a perfect base.
Owner Response
Adrian and Kay, I'm so glad you enjoyed your week here - I certainly enjoyed having you as guests. Thank you so much for your positive review and for describing the advantages of being located in Horseshoe Bay. With ferries, buses and restaurants on the doorstep, it's hard to go wrong! I hope you will come again - there's plenty more enjoyment waiting for you!
Valerieās apartment is conveniently located in walking proximity to many amenities. It has a fully equipped kitchen and being able to use laundry facilities was a bonus for my two-week stay. Horseshoe Bay is a wonderful community and only 20 minutes away from Vancouver. Driving along Marine Dr. was very beautiful. Valerie is a very attentive host and made sure that my stay was comfortable. I would recommend this place without hesitation.
Owner Response
Thank you for your kind words Marielle. Iām so glad you enjoyed staying at Ferry Walk House and that you had the experience of being less than 5 minutes walk to everything in the village. Iām glad there were some beautiful sunny days so that you could also enjoy the backdrop of snowy mountains as well as the scenic drives along Marine Drive. Thank you for being a wonderful guest and for leaving the apartment as if you were never there. I would love to see you back again.
We always wanted to visit Vancouver and after staying in the Ferry Walk House, we can't think of a more relaxing place to stay. It is an absolutely gorgeous area, the apartment is fantastic and we leave having gained a friend in Valerie. She has been so kind and always concerned about whether we were warm or cold. She was always a quick text away. Her hospitality was simply outstanding and many could learn from her. So for now, we say goodbye to a new friend and hope to be back again when the flowers are in full bloom.
Valerie is a wonderful host, she will make you feel like home and more! My family of 3 loved staying here. It was a great base to take tours of Vancouver, and to explorer everything between Horseshoe Bay and Whistler - that path has a lot to offer! Right next to ferry to Vancouver Island - do not miss that! We hope to come back one day and stay with Valerie again.
Owner Response
Ayrat, Valeriya & Robert, I really enjoyed having the three you as guests. I'm so glad you were able to see so much of Vancouver and the surrounding areas while you were here. I do hope you will come back and continue your explorations - there is never enough time to see everything! Thank you for your positive review.
We stayed at the Ferry Walk House in Horseshoe Bay, BC for about two weeks in mid-July. We found the suite to be very clean and well equipped with comfortable furnishings, modern appliances, and useful entertainment equipment. It was also amazingly well stocked with food products that you need in small quantities for your visit like sugar, and cooking condiments. The suite is located on the first floor of Valerie William's home and you could not have a nicer, more attentive, more helpful, or less obtrusive landlady. Moreover, its location in Horseshoe Bay is ideal for visiting Vancouver, Whistler, and the many nearby small ports and islands that can be reached by ferry. One can board the ferries by walking five minutes from your door. We highly recommend the Ferry Walk House as a wonderful vacation destination!

Rick and Heather, I really enjoyed having you as guests. Your generous review is truly appreciated. I do my best to anticipate guestsā needs, particularly in the kitchenn, and itās great to know I have succeeded!
We have stayed in many homeaways all over the world and Valerie was one of the most gracious hosts we have ever experienced! The apt is immaculate and goes above and beyond the normal "basics" that you need. It's a great home base to explore all Vancouver has to offer and such a great location - walkable to restaurants, parks, the ferry and more. We comfortably stayed with our 2.5 year old and 5 month old. Valerie had set up the pack and play and booster chair before we arrived and had toys and books that our toddler loved while we were there. The outdoor space/garden is beautiful and relaxing and Valerie was always a text away. We hope to return one day and explore more, sans smoke! Thank you so much Valerie!

My goodness Erin & Josh - after driving all the way from Vancouver to Portland with a toddler and a baby, you still managed to find time to write this review on the same day. What a huge compliment!! Thank you for your kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to see some of the best parts of Vancouver. I look forward to seeing you again when the children are older.
My wife and I stayed at the Ferry Walk House to kick off an 18 day vacation to British Columbia and Washington State. It was the perfect place to start a wonderful vacation. The apartment is clean and spacious with everything in working order and thoughtfully laid out to make for a pleasant stay . The garden behind the apartment is the perfect place to relax and we spent several hours there enjoying each other's company, the weather and some down time. The apartment location conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants and a park. We enjoyed visiting with and talking to our host Valerie. She is absolutely charming and had several great suggestions about things to do, where to shop, etc.
Owner Response
Mike and Kath, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and were able to relax in the garden at Ferry Walk House, as well as inside the apartment. It was a pleasure having such appreciative guests to stay and I'm delighted your stay was such a successful start to your vacation. I hope you will come back again!
The Ferry Walk House was perfect for our stay. The property had everything we needed, & was in walking distance of several restaurants, & shops. Beds were so comfortable, we got great nights of rest after long days of being busy, & running around. Perfect location, outside of the busy city, but still close enough if we wanted to venture downtown. Also, good proximity to Whistler, it was a beautiful drive.
I have nothing but praise for Ferry Walk House apartment. Comfortable and very well equipped - a lovely area with cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance - and an express bus service into the city centre every 20 minutes (and a slow and scenic bus every 30 minutes until late at night). The kitchen is one of the best-equipped I've encountered, the bed is comfortable and there's a good shower. Excellent wi-fi - we've both been working remotely while here with no problems at all. We've had a brilliant 8-week stay here - many thanks to Valerie.
Owner Response
Pen and Simon, thanks for spreading the word about Ferry Walk House. After you have been staying for 8 weeks, your comment about the kitchen being well equipped is especially relevant to future guests. It's easy to equip a kitchen for a few nights, but there's a big difference when guests are staying for a few weeks. I'm glad you had so much fun with your different activities during your stay. You certainly had a wide variety with line dancing at the community centre, Moscow Ballet Company performance, seeing several hockey games, as well as trips to Vancouver Island and Alberta. You definitely made the most of your time here and there's plenty more if you return!! Thanks for being wonderful guests.
I had an exceptional good time at the Ferry Walk House. The Apt.is cozy and well appointed and having the owner on the premises made it even more enjoyable. I will be back next year with my little dog who also thought it was a great location to parks and public transit.
Owner Response
Barbara, you were a perfect guest and Bella the perfect dog. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay so much that you are returning next year. This is the ultimate compliment for a host! Looking forward to seeing you again.
My parents had all the comforts that they could ask for and the location was perfect! Thank you for your kind hospitality.
Owner Response
Kamini, I'm so glad your parents had everything they needed. It was a pleasure having them to stay. They were perfect guests and left the suite looking as if they were never there!
The Ferry Walk House was like a home away from home. Valerie has thought of everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay from a beautiful comfy bed to a kitchen packed with utensils and appliances. The location was perfect for us away from the hustle and bustle of Vancouver but still close enough to take in the tourist attractions near the city. My husband and I will certainly be recommending Ferry Walk House to all of our friends and family. As for Valerie she was a delight to deal with and we hope to some day make a return visit. Thank you Valerie for a memorable stay. Merrilyn & Michael Szulc .. Darwin Australia

Marilyn & Michael, thank you so much for recommending Ferry Walk House so highly. Having appreciative guests is such a pleasure! I was impressed with the number of local attractions you visited, including a day trip to Victoria on Vancouver Island. A long day, but well worth it. I sincerely hope you will both return and I look forward to visits from your friends and family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ferry Walk House and our gracious host, Valerie. The house provides everything you could want - clean, cozy and comfortable with great amenities like a washer and dryer, wi-fi, cable TV, fully furnished kitchen and a very comfortable bed. We loved the location just a block from the ocean and central to many activities either in downtown Vancouver or a beautiful drive north on the Sea to Sky highway. Valerie was so gracious in helping us with directions and advice and also provided information about local restaurants and shops. Valerie made our stay in Vancouver very enjoyable and relaxing - we highly recommend Ferry Walk House.
